The Suffolk Women’s Land Army Memorial Trust seeks to recognise and pay tribute to the women who came from and to Suffolk to work on the land and in woodlands to feed a hungry nation during and following the Second World War.

Our direct fundraising journey has also begun towards meeting our Trust aims and we are delighted to be holding our first fundraising event at Saxham Hall (IP 29 5JW) on Sunday 9th June. Our event will be running from 1-5pm and will very much be an afternoon of celebration of and giving thanks to the women who served, and we will be delighted to be hosts to some very special veterans and their families who feature in our project.  Our intention on the day, is to begin with the presentation of the award of a bespoke ‘Certificate of Thanks’ that we have commissioned for all Suffolk serving veterans and their families that says Suffolk both remembers and is grateful that they served.

 We will have lots of service stories on display through artefacts, ephemera and original uniforms that all help to tell the Suffolk Story and there will be Land Army Living Historians on hand to guide visitors around the display and talk more about some of the fascinating details that we have uncovered in our research.  The afternoon wouldn’t be complete without a sumptuous 1940’s style afternoon tea provided by The Barrow Benefice. We also have a rather lovely Raffle which we hope that visitors will generously support.

Event Sponsorship of £100  - Sponsors of this event will have their names and agreed details on the souvenir programme, advance and in situ advertising and be able to supply business materials (leaflets etc) for promotion at the event.  Sponsorship for this event includes 2 sponsor guest passes to join us and enjoy the refreshments in the company of our guest of honour veterans and families.
