Suffolk Archives

We worked with Suffolk Archives by creating a 'Sharing Suffolk Stories' display - part of a family of projects accompanying the creation of The Hold, a new archive centre for Suffolk.

The display, open in time for Women's History Month 2022, was created by Suffolk Archives volunteers, with support from staff, and brings together some of the things they have found most interesting during their research. The display was accompanied by a live interactive map which you can visit to explore local Land Army stories.

The display was launched alongside the first premiere of Suffolk based film-maker Holly Brega's first documentary. The film, 'The Land Girls and Horses of Suffolk' is a lasting legacy telling the story about the women who worked the land and horses, especially the Suffolk Punch horse during WW2 as part of the Women’s Land Army.
